Stonehenge and Bath Day Trip

We meet downstairs around 7:50 and managed to make it to the meeting point without any issues this time around. We got there about ten til 8:30 and we ended up taking off around 8:45am. I always ride the bus with one of the girls in the group, Laura, and we decided to pick the one level bus instead of the double decker one because it meant our tour group would be smaller and there is less people to worry about, we kind of wished we would of went with the double decker.

We got on the road and one thing I noticed was that the bus driver made hard stops and always took off so it kind of made me nauseous, and I don't know if it was a game but he always seemed to try to get as close to the car ahead as possible. I knew it was going to be a long day. We finally got to Stonehenge, about a two hour bus ride but because of the traffic we got shorted on time and only had about 30 minutes to walk around it which wasn't too bad. The memorable part of the journey was when we got to the parking lot, for some reason it seemed like the world came to Stonehenge so we had to park in a farther lot and in the process we managed to about take out a post. We did scrap it. After managing to get off the bus we wondered around the stones and took pictures. We had to kinda rush, but they told us Bath would be worth it.

After taking off, we had another one hour journey ahead to get to Bath. The reason we had to rush was because we had our time scheduled at 1pm. We managed to actually make it on time. It was pretty cool to see. The town in general was pretty neat, but the Roman Baths were pretty cool. It's amazing that, that long ago they were able to come up with all of it. Between the structure and how it works.

Another cool part was that you are able to actually drink the spring water that still flows there. In a sense it was cool, but in reality the water was actually kinda warm, almost hot. I really would have enjoyed some ice, but that would kinda go against be able to drink the healing waters. So I toughed it and drank it. We had about 3 hours to go through the Roman Baths and then wonder around Bath. After we got through all of it we found some food and then wondered around and found a park. But we didn't actually go into the park or grassy area because it cost a pound. They do that to keep the undesirables out. It was an interesting town. They were telling us about how it was built on 7 hills, and it is definite noticeable. You really have to be fit to live there because walking around is a work out. The hills also come into play in our journey out of Bath, great story, but back to when we first get back to the buses to leave. We get there and as we are sitting there waiting for him to pull up, we watch our driver take out a sign and break the mirror and just about hit a person. Then we wondered over to the door and the person in charge said for 15 people to get on because the bus is leaving right away, and Laura and I were ready to head back and didn't want to wait, turns out it didn't really matter. So we got on and took off. Our tour guide decided to take the detour route through Bath to show us, which was okay but I was tired and ready to head back. Then she managed to forget to tell the bus driver where to turn. We ended up coming to a road with a sign that said no vehicles with heavy goods, so we had to turn around, and these streets are super narrow. We barely managed to turn around, we all were a tad scared. Then we met two cars who luckily were smart enough to let us go by first. Then when we got back to the place where we missed the turn, we tried to make it, but it was impossible so we had to take another way out. In the process we hit some trees going down a narrow road which caused the mirror to fall. And using the resources we had, he bandaged, literally, the mirror back on. Then we finally managed to get back on the road and it was smooth sailing. I ended up reading for two hours. As we got on the outside of London we hit traffic so it took us longer to get back, like last weekend.

Once I got back I really didn't do a whole lot because of the long day and I knew I had quite the day planned for Sunday. So I took it easy and just rested.
